Background
Our group has been meeting annually since 2007 to sample a variety of whiskies, exchange ideas, and tell some stories. Tastings consist of bottles brought by members each year plus a special bottle. Each year half of the attendees are tasked with bringing a bottle to be included in the tasting. Our tastings are usually blind, and members are encouraged to provide their own tasting notes based on their experience. Typically, these blind tastings will consist of 6 to 12 different bottles plus a special more expensive bottle that is bought from contributions from the group. At the end, a vote is taken for general consensus of which was the favorite whisky, and the bottles are then revealed.
Below are lists of whiskys tasted over the years. The first is from the annual meeting and the following lists are from other event tastings during travels whether at distilleries, conventions, weekly zoom meetings or bars. The only rule is that a majority of the people involved have to have had an opportunity to sample the whisky and draw their own conclusions.
